Thanks for that good reporting on the BC (a province next (West) to us here in Alberta), vineyard decimation from KILLING cold – 100% grape loss. All plants need to be replanted. I just explained to my 5 children, spouses and grandchildren on our family message thread, what the GSM is doing in year #4 of 38 years of GSM. My group is recognizing that this is all real, and they are taking steps to survive the extended cold, that will kill plants, animals and humans alike.

God knows just how devastating the cold is to human life. Like the co-founder of Greenpeace said in the new climate documentary, “a human naked in the shade at 20C will die from hypothermia….humans are tropical beings and can only live away from the equator because of hydrocarbons (fire), industrialization (clothing)”.

Check out the natives of Tierra Del Fuego a hundred years ago or so. Humans have the capacity to adapt to extremes of climate with no clothing or technology, but it might take a generation or two.
Well, the story on the Fuegians has changed considerably since I was young. I checked Wikipedia, admittedly not the best source.
However, I once worked with a man who said he was stationed in Antarctica and was the only one walking around inside the station in a T-shirt and shorts. Everyone else wore long johns and winter coats.
He said his mother put him in a crib on the front porch for his nap every day, summer or winter. She was from a Scandinavian country. He was very cold adapted.
There are many such stories of mind over body. I wouldn’t trust the opinion of a founder of Greenpeace. Or anyone else with an agenda.
50 miles S of BC here, record warm start to Spring from solar flares. My grapes are budding, I just mowed the lawn the third time this year. Nicest Spring here in eight years from solar flares. Snowpack is 57% ‘ere. Worried about hot not cold. Record hot last three summers here this one looks worser. EH?
Direct hit X flare hitting all this weekend with eight other M flares erupting. Next month forecast bigger flares. More flares all year, big alignments in Dec like last year.

My daughter just had a sprout of asparagus come up, unseasonably early. We split it. Fresh asparagus is yummy!
