I can’t speak for Europe but over here in the US since 2008 the government has pissed away 24 trillion dollars to solve a nonexistent problem. The last three presidents spent three time more than all the previous presidents up to 2008. Two world wars were financed at a fraction of the cost of the CO2 boogyman. All that to force upon the public flawed toys like electric cars and renewables. None of these systems work in extreme cold and that looks like the trajectory.
Thank you corrupt scientist, being cowardly
little boys really can’t hurt a thing!
Does that 24 trillion include the huge amounts pissed away during covid, maybe not quite a nonexistent problem but one that was blown out of all proportion. In the UK the government pissed away at least ÂŁ500 billion of funny money it created. We’re still seeing the effects of dumping all this money into the economy in the form of high inflation and a cost of living crisis.
In northwestern Russia, one of the coldest winter cycles has begun.
Last night was one of the coldest of the season.
This will be the biggest anomaly in Russia for this period. The deviation of the average daily temperature from the norm will be 8-10 degrees. https://www.gismeteo.ru/news/weather/na-severo-zapade-rossii-startoval-odin-samyh-moroznyh-ciklov-zimy/

Snowdrifts in Moscow have grown a lot
On the morning of February 8, white blizzards sparkled in the sun. According to the reference meteorological station VDNKh, the depth of the snow was 60 cm, but still this is not a record snowfall for Moscow: in 1994, on February 8, the height of snow at VDNKh was more significant : There were snowdrifts 65 cm high.
According to automatic stations, in the southwest of Moscow, the snow depth in some places on the morning of February 8 was 74 cm, and in the northwest of Moscow in some places it increased to 65 cm. https://www.hmn.ru/index.php?index=1&ts=240208120027

Transport collapse on China’s roads
In China, thousands of drivers are stuck on the roads. The reason was the snowfall and freezing rain that fell the day before. As a result, not only the movement of vehicles, but also rail and air transport was disrupted. https://aif.ru/society/gallery/transportnyy_kollaps_na_dorogah_kitaya?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=infox.sg&utm_campaign=exchange

Blizzard paralyzed Hubei
The Blizzard paralyzed China’s north-south transportation hub, and the high-speed railway was also frozen and stopped; Hubei Expressway traffic jam for 3 days and 3 nights, no water, no food, no toilet and no rescue; A shares plummeted again, and thousands of shares fell to the limit, and shareholders regarded the Indian consulate’s Weibo as a “wailing wall”; The stock market proves that China is decoupling from the world, and Xi Jinping, the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, is in a hurry to make a big move. https://www.epochtimes.com/gb/24/2/7/n14175725.htm

Cap I agree that the yo-yo of the weather with severe cold followed by searing heat is a huge problem. I have trees that have just given up and died after the swings. I am hoping my fruit trees and grape plants survive the potential severe late Feb or early March freeze. If it is anything like the brutal freeze we just had here in NW Oregon in January, it will be difficult.
The swing between extremes will be far more of a problem than even 1C of global cooling. However I thought the biggest swings normally happened during solar minimum not close to solar max. To get record low temps or snow depths needs a large polar plunge caused by a weak jet stream, therefore the jet is often weak at solar max when it should be stronger and more zonal. This is why I’m worried that such swings and very low temps are happening now even though the UAH data shows the Earth is still near record warmth (since satellite measurements started). If many previous low temp records were set during solar minimums this would suggest the swings and polar plunges are only going to get more intense as we approach the minimum at the end of cycle 25.
They have not yet made their prediction for SC26, that is only the SC25 prediction. They will make a prediction for SC26 when the Sun’s polarities reach the point where they CAN make the prediction which is still years away.
On the polarity charts, you can watch the polarities go back up over the next few years. The amount they go back up is what they will base their SC26 prediction on. https://solen.info/solar/polarfields/polar.html http://wso.stanford.edu/gifs/Polar.gif
My son and daughter inlaw, believe what I have shown them about GSM, blew in fibreglass insulation into our Attic. We now have insulation that is ready for the Grand Solar Minimum’s reigning terror coming upon the earth. The insulation is now between R-60 to R-70, even R-80 along all the edges and strut structures. We will be able to stay warm burning a candle LOL. The house feels very different now cloaked in the thick blanket of insulation. Every room I go into is the same warm temperature. The house feels gentle, and secure. The -56C effective lows we had for a couple of weeks, -46C on the thermometer, will now not be able to tear the life out of our natural gas furnace, by forcing it to run nonstop.
“….the sun shall be darkened”….its output lowered.
The Texas weather yo-yo has returned. Low temp tonight (Monday pm/Tuesday am) is going to be about 10 degrees below average, but then bouncing to about 10 degrees above average in a few days.
Alaska’s Iron Dog snowmobile race starts next weekend from Anchorage to Nome and back. My cousin is on the roster again this year, he won several times back in the day. They are getting ready for the race setting up the course, getting supplies to the check point stations. Big party in Nome. They are dealing with the severe winter conditions just getting ready for the race. Bush pilots. Blizzards. https://www.irondog.org/
2AM, 3rd cup of coffee. I type with one finger and a flashlight, up on the monitor screen, squinting to spell check. I’ve been trying to comment less to cut down on clutter and will continue to do so. Two views of the Sun’s polarity show the big sunspot. Earth is the only planet on this side of the Sun, different pattern. https://gong.nso.edu/data/magmap/QR/bqG/202402/mrbqG240209/mrbqG240209t0804c2280_009.gif https://gong.nso.edu/data/magmap/QR/bq4/202402/mrbq4240209/mrbq4240209t0804c2280_009.gif
Dirk,
Your comments are well worth the read. I for one appreciate your voice in Cap’s investigations and reporting. Each of us are seeing things locally. I will be thinking about your cousin out there on his own with his team. Survivors every one of those dog sledders.

Warm air over the Great Lakes which haven’t froze this year, record warm since the big cold snap. Low over Wi pulling chilly air down the Rockies.

Iron dogs. Snowmobiles. The Iditerod Dog Sled Race from Anchorage to Nome starts March 2. Both races are amazing feats of endurance.
The Sun popped off another major solar flare this morning, the second biggest of SC25 An X3.3 that’s mostly headed away from Earth again. That’s why the Electron lull and puts us in a divergence zone. On the NASA animation you can see the flare hitting Mercury and Venus and Mars. Jupiter is opposite which you can’t see but those are the alignments that caused the flare and recent flares.

Proton hit, no electrons. Electrons follow protons IF there are any which there hasn’t been much of since last year but that doesn’t mean there won’t be more big electron hits this year and next. The planets are changing positions and they control flare direction.
The problem is our weakened mag shield from GSM AND the weakening impact from Space travel and HAARPs. Are they making the mag shield weaker? How much, how fast?
