Cyclones on both sides of South South America forming this week. The Pacific cyclone barometric pressure est 952 millibars Sunday night which is below where the scale starts on my wall barometer. That is warm wind going South along the S American coast.
The Atlantic side cyclone sending cold air up into S America is the weaker cyclone, the snowfall forecast in the Andes is way below the last five years forecast models.

Another cyclone off the S tip of Africa on Friday morning shows wave height forecast 42 feet every 14 seconds, wind gusting 90mph. Ships locked out of the Suez on normal routes in that cyclone wish they stayed home.

I have a question, here in north Texas I am eagerly hoping the model which was run which showed summer ending early was accurate. My NOAA weather app is telling me 106 for next week and I’m discouraged. I bragged on your articles to my Dad and told him you thought it likely summer ending early….did I speak too soon? It looks as though northern Texas/NM will have a toasty time of it for a few days starting Aug 19, but I don’t see much else.
Generally, this hasn’t been a summer to speak of for much of the U.S., and barring a few brief pockets of heat, that theme looks set to continue.
