Fred Sanford always claimed his faux heart attack was “It’s the big one, Elizabeth!” But of course it never was. (The actor, Redd Foxx, actually did die of a heart attack years later.)
Our chances of a “big one” are remote over any short stretch of years, or so I hope. However, I remember a previous long-duration solar event of some sort rather recently. But I do not recall reading that solar ejections themselves are cyclical or predictable, though it seems reasonable the chances might rise and fall as do the sunspots.

We who live Rurally have older trucks that aren’t bothered by CME’s and out Tractors run on Diesel easily made from raw oil. They did that in the Depression. Kids would carry a 5 gallon jug home and they would process it inti useable fuel!!!
