Next year the sun reaches perihelion on January 2, 2024. That means the sun will be as close to the earth as it will be all year and we are at solar max. If like most of you do, believe the dormant sun will bring on cold then a closer sun at solar max should slow down the aggressiveness of this winter for a short duration. In 1246, the December Solstice was on the same day as the Earth reached its perihelion. Southern ocean warming contributor.
Approximately 10,000 years ago perihelion was during the June solstice. The proximity to that time contributed to ice melting on the Northern Hemisphere continents.
This whole Global Warming thing is a scam. Follow the money. We know that. But the unwashed masses simply follow and obey. Here in Asheville, NC I am seeing more electric cars from Tesla to Chevy Volt to Nissan Leaf. The amount of pollution created by making these things is completely disregarded. I have however, noticed Adamantly Angry from Australia making an untrue statement about snowfall in New Zealand.
During the 3 year La Nina the snowfall in NZ was less but with the roaring forties, furious fifties, and screaming sixties returning to normal behavior this year the snow returned.
That’s exactly what I’ve been saying though… La Nina = milder winters, both for NZ and also for AUS. Which makes this current “El Nino” all the more concerning given that we were supposed to have a cold winter with normal Roaring Forties behaviour like you said, but instead we got ZERO westerly activity just like a La Nina due to record hot oceans and atmospheric moisture.
Eastern Australia had a very cold winter .
The promised hot and dry spring was actually quite wet , and not very hot.
No doubt the predictions of a hotter and drier summer than average will also be wrong.
Just as the predictions of terrible bushfires before every summer for the last three years has also been totally wrong.

The Southern Ocean storms are causing overturning of surface water and dissipating some of the marine heatwave.
The cold deep water upwellings off the Western coast of South America have returned which should result in a slight cooling effect soon.
That deep water upwelling has a PH of 7.8 (cold water carrying more dissolved CO2) whilst the warmer global ocean surface water has a PH of around 8.2 to 8.4.
Ocean acidification? The ocean ain’t acidic.
Why are they trying to keep it cold? Millions more people die every year from cold-related causes, about 4.5 million, than from heat-related causes, about 500,000.
