  1. What is going on with the UAH temperature plot? The last date is November on this page. When you click on it the last date is October. I assume we will be seeing the December numbers soon.

  2. Lots of mild weather in south western Canada. In my vancouver area neighborhood, I have only seen frost once so far this year. Not seeing any chance of frost in our 5 to 10 day forecast. We are still picking herbs from our garden. Sparwood has been exceptionally mild. Eastern Canadian artic, Iqaluit area, mild too. Overall, weather is trending towards mild across Canada in first half of January. Can anyone forecast what weather we should expect in the second half of January? Thanks

          1. The positively and negatively charged regions of the storm act like the terminals of a motor. As charged water droplets or dust particles move between these “electrodes,” they begin to whirl. This flow of charge—essentially a current—interacts with the atmosphere’s electric field to create rotational force (torque), just like a motor’s rotor spins when electricity passes through it. Just as a motor stays running as long as it has power, the “electric drive” of the storm keeps the tornado’s vortex tight and stable. 😚

          2. Deb.
            Absolutely .brilliant.
I was going to explain that as a tornado does not cast out pistons and valves it is clearly not an internal combustion engine, so it must be an electric motor.

          3. Deb. The bottom of the thunder cloud is negatively charged. The earth is also negatively charged but in an area around and under the thunderstorm the earth becomes positively charged, so the bottom of the cloud is attracted down to feast on the positive charge.
A tornado is doing the same thing that lightning does.
This helps to understand atmospheric turbulence and electric charge stratification.
You clearly explained the lenard effect and we are all very proud of you.

  3. I agree with “variable” comment. I just want a forecast of colder weather to shut-up our annoying local cbc radio hosts. Climate is so political these days. It’s nuts.

  4. Actually Cap…climate Change DOES cause massive cold & Snow. That’s because the Solar Minimum we are in IS a natural Climate Change caused by the Sun & Earths seas/atmosphere. I know what YOU mean…they think that GLOBALWARMING CAUSED BY MAN!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
