’09 Spring and Summer were cold and wet here in Western Washington State USSA the farmers could not plant their corn crop. Miles and miles of muddy fields. That was solar minimum, La Nina.
Now it’s warm and sunny and I bet I can drive around and find waist high corn by 4th of July. 2010 and 2011 were also cold and wet but not as bad as ’09. Should be bumper crops this year don’t have to worry about cold or even think about it.

And changing rain patterns might make Arizona & New Mexico more farming friendly, I guess.
Cleveland, Ohio got a few days of low 90s( F (low 30s C) temperatures when a high-pressure system off the Carolinas dragged heat up from the South, they were cooler. It’s back to its normal high 70s F( (high 20s C) and low 80s F (mid 20s C)
02:30am slug patrol, all clear. Got four at 12:30am on the zuke flowers. Very small slugs a quarter of an inch long, grey in color. They eat baby plants at the base like little loggers clearcutting a forest. Took me three years to figure out what was eating everything. They come out at night. Their slime trail on the leaves has a toxin and kills the leaf. Once the plants get going it’s not a problem. They get up on my wood porch and get into plant pots. Never seen these anywhere else. Busted two more slugs at 03:30am and two more at 04:30am on the zucchini plant’s leaves. Eight total targets acquired. None found at 05am and I got a nap. Got up and strang pea vines with the new fishing line I bought. Good three dollar investment grow and catch food. Stacked more firewood I split Monday all Alder, Maple and Cherry I can use for smoking salmon and Elk. I have two more tons of wood on site to split and stack all Douglas Fir for the woodstove.
I took another step towards rebuilding my matrix yesterday. I found an artist’s forum where I can chat with other artists. They’re a nice bunch of people, very supportive and talented. And not a single word about the end of the world. Now I have a place I can go online to talk with those “like-minded” people you always hear about but can never find.
This is the only doom-and-gloom site I still visit. You know why. I may not have a beneficial effect on the world at large by reshaping the matrix I live in, but it is certainly beneficial to me. And that will have to do.
