Will CO2 save us from turning cold during the ensuing Grand Solar Minimum? If not save us maybe some measure of mitigation? An excellent explanation by Tony Heller
suggest to bulk of the CO2 will be reabsorbed by the seas as they start to turn cooler.
The Earth is currently in a 2.56 million-year ice age named the Quaternary Glaciation in an 11,700-year interglacial period named the Holocene. The glacial periods and interglacial periods alternate. Both Al Gore and the video author called glacial periods ice ages. The ice age the Earth is in won’t officially end until all natural ice on Earth melts.
The Sunspot Number, which reflects solar output, has been at its highest level over the last hundred years of any time in the last 300 years. https://www.sidc.be/SILSO/yearlyssnplot
That is what has warmed the oceans and released more CO2 from the oceans which hold about 60 to 70 times the CO2 in the atmosphere.
The last full glaciation started to end 19 thousand years ago.
The Younger Dryas very cold period was caused by a comet hitting Canada.
The end of the Younger Dryas is mistaken for the end of the Ice Age.
Well, I know where everyone’s heat has gone. It was 80F here yesterday, forecast 77 for today, 61 right now. We’ve had warm spells in Feb before, but this is over the top. It’s supposed to be warm all week.
If I was at home, I would be working in my yard. By the time I do get home, at the end of March, I’ll be stuck inside in the AC for 6 months, if this keeps up.
Don’t complain about winter if it comes in the wintertime. I wonder if we will have to completely abandon the concept of “seasonal weather”?
This sort of thing is very hard on the plants. They’ll start blooming early, only to get caught by a killing frost. Fruit is especially hard hit by changeable weather. More trouble for the food chain.
If you’re planting a garden, think about going heavy on the greens. They are densely nutritious, in many varieties which handle heat and cold, have a shorter time from seed to production than tropical plants like tomatoes, and you can easily dehydrate them for later addition to soups. Also great for successive plantings and growing indoors.
Deb (and others) when you post please say where you are. Because your posts are meaningless if you dont. So you are in Australia then Deb? Which region?
I’m in Missouri, which I mentioned in the comment section of the last article or so. I mention it from time to time, but wasn’t sure if anyone gave a rat’s derriere anyway.
Politically, I think the Aussies are worse off than we are, so I’m just as glad to be here, tho the bad stuff will most likely get everywhere sooner or later.
Confetti all over ! Except when it is snowing heavily in the southern alps the northern alps are suffering frm the föhn , a southern wind that is heating up the northerna alps . The BBC will be very well aware of this fact ,which is then misused to further the false global warming narrative . The BBC is an evil washout of the centralised state with an evil narrative supporting the happy few and enslaving the workers and the peasants . Climate here is being used to further an agenda aimed at destroying the lives of the active population and stealing their contribution and preventing a prosperous society based upon the richness and rightness of gods creation .
