Yes, Texas is warmer this week, too. And The Gulf area is getting lots of rain. It’s a good thing that States north & east of this rainmaker are warmer this week. Otherwise people would be buried underneath feet of snow all along the path of this rain.
Big low pressure N E of Japan now, wind gusting NNE 80mph along SE Russian coast. Temp 10 F. The cold air is going South over Japan, temp Sapporo 25F gusting 50mph. Temp in Russia going into the low pressure there -30F. The volcanic plume from kamchatka backed into the low as it was moving up Japan, rather than go into a cyclone East in the N Pacific as has been the pattern. It’s a split pattern now, some still into Japan, some going into Alaska producing more snow there and BC Canada. Ten feet forecast next ten days, snowiest forecast on the map. Still snowing in the mountains here NW US, lowland rain.
