  1. I saw an interesting video about planting dates and crop insurance. Most of the scientists only have interest in getting their faces in front of a camera where BS is king. Crop insurance companies have some serious skin in the game.
I wonder if the plantings cycles are coming earlier or later in the spring time.

    1. It’s a great temptation to plant early when the temps are mostly in the 70’s and 80’s, but we’re still getting these sudden cold snaps. It’s supposed to get down to 31F here tonight. I’m going to cover the pansies I planted the other day so they don’t get frost bit. I think the planting cycles, like the weather in general, are simply becoming more chaotic and less reliable.

      1. Deb same here in Metcalfe County KY.
        And it was 82F yesterday.
Mother Nature must be on her Monthly…😢

      2. Deb yuh critter, please remember it is the time of the equinoxes, variable weather rushing by.

        Do you copy that, over?

        1. Variable weather is always rushing by in your world. And now you have managed to infect the rest of use. What’s happened to my “Golden Years”, that’s what I want to know. 🧑‍🦳🤔

  2. Cap:

    Cap:
The Earth is cooling because the Sun’s energy output is falling. It has entered a solar minimum that could be as extensive as the Maunder minimum in the 1600s. There were famines caused by crop failures during that period.

Are we seeing the same thing happening today? Do the heavy snowfalls indicate that there is more condensation and more heat sent to space to cool the Earth? The snowfall is equivalent to rainfall from hurricanes during the hurricane season.

See the paper: The Sun Evaporates Water to Cool the Earth for Life to Flourish.
    Available at: https://doi.org/10.29169/1927-5129.2025.21.03

Most climate scientists do not know that the Earth has a robust cooling system to prevent overheating by the Sun.

    1. Do you have any information on what winter will be like in the Southern Hemisphere? Because Antarctica has been hitting record low temperatures, and it’s quiet here (No cold weather yet, the start of autumn here-South Brazil).

  3. The decrease in disruptive articles, thereby indicating decrease in disruptive research should be extremely concerning. In the U.S. increasingly large investments are being made in the wrong areas and often in wasteful and inefficient university research. This in turn can result in discouragement to researchers interested in areas that currently lack public interest, but with proper funding could lead to scientific breakthroughs in ways not presently seen as important by the public, and those holding the money bags.

  4. The cover photo has a sign ‘Schwimmbad’, English translation, ‘Drowned’.

What type of Penguins were they?

    1. Clearly, they are “drowning” in snow.

I don’t think anyone cares what kind of penguins they were. I know I don’t. That last haircut went a little deep, didn’t it? 🤪

      1. Can’t see any drownlings in photographic representation. It is the snow melt that getz’em.

The penguin question is testing for proof of life. Intelligent life.
I cannot see any orange colour on those penguins so it is hard to tell if they are Emperors. I wonder how they get up palm trees. Strange birds. I saw a duck nesting up a tree once.

Hey Deb. What does reducing Earths tilt (obliquity) do to the climate at the tropics, 33 degrees latitude, 66 degrees latitude, and the poles.
Oh, and a dissertation on oceanic currents moving energy around. Dispersal.
        Sign of life.

    2. Moffin-
You incorrigible con artist! Schwimmbad means swimming pool, not drowned. Thanks to Noel for pointing that out. I hope you have a screwdriver, because there’s definitely a screw loose somewhere!

  5. NET ZERO CRAZY:
The factory that produces half of Britain’s salt could soon be killed by Net Zero. For the first time in history, England is set to be a net importer of the world’s most important mineral. This will be catastrophic for UK manufacturing, says Ruari McCallion

“Like the rest of the UK’s manufacturing industry, Inovyn is struggling to cope with the UK’s breathtakingly high energy costs and crippling carbon taxes. In other words, Britain’s salt industry is to be sacrificed at the altar of Net Zero.”

How many minds has Greta Thunberg, or her handlers, corrupted?

  7. Hold it! About Fairbanks, this will likely be the latest ever temperature above 32 F on record now! They posted earlier on this and predicted that it was going to be 4th place. Not anymore! The latest forecast for Fairbanks now shows sub-freezing temperatures to continue thru April 3rd at least. The previous latest ever was March 31st in 2007. The closest it will get to freezing is Monday, March 30th, with a high around 31 degrees. This was certainly a long, cold winter in Alaska. A record breaker!!!!
