Outside of the Tropics, it is so cold that people can’t live there without technology in the form of heated houses, heated transportation, heated workplaces, and warm clothes and shoes, most of the year.
That sounds like a dogmatic catchphrase to me. Have you ever lived anywhere besides the North Pole? ( Wherever that may be nowadays.) That’s about the only place your statement is likely to be true, except the South Pole, of course, which also seems to have gone walkabout.
There are people around here who wear shorts all winter, because people can and have adapted to lots of extreme conditions.
Blanket statements are almost always wrong
Except of course when it comes to Teddy bears, lol.🙂 But my personal favorite for staying warm and general comfort is three dogs, big fluffy ones,🦮🦮🦮, tho in spite of all the GSM hype for the last 20 years, we don’t seem to be getting three dog nights around here anymore.
Btw, Ralph, are you saying that except for the tropics, the earth was uninhabited before the rise of technology? Unless you consider animal fur and wood fires to be technology?
Western governments and climate zealots are adamant that we must cut our CO2 emissions to save the planet whilst China, India, and others are increasing theirs. Do they not realize that we all share the same atmosphere wherever we are in accordance to Graham’s law of distribution. There may be more pockets of concentrated CO2 over places such as volcanos
Davos meeting,s Etc.
This is just one more indication that the PTB do not give a rat’s derriere about the climate. They are simply using it as a pretext to gain more control.
Anyone with half a braincell firing brightly ought to recognize that fact. But so few do.
However, I have come to believe that God loves stupid people as much as He loves smart ones. Go figure…
I guess it’s up to the smart ones to protect the stupid ones. Or maybe if we pray hard enough, God will do it. In the end, I couldn’t even protect my stupid cat.
What drivel that magazine publishes. I noticed how they avoided mentioning any actual temperatures or the fact that Western Antarctica has loads of underwater volcanoes that warm the water.
The commenters seem all in on CO2 being a terrible thing.
The temperature colors, particularly the reds/burnt orange, on Scott Duncan’s map of Europe are over-the-top ridiculous. And when summer really does arrive, what will be the color scheme then? So Truman’s World.
What’s going on in climate discussion/science is a textbook example of “The Overton Window” at work.
Does AI ever take a day off?
Would they even want to?

And a teddy bear to cuddle.

I guess you could call horses heated transportation, lol, since they are warm blooded animals.
