The question is, why is this so? Why are we not getting any Antarctic blasts? I suggest that the strongly zonal jetstream is inhibiting their propogation. The southern hemisphere seems radically different to the northern, with its ‘weak and wavy jets. Why the difference?

At that temp there is lots of dissolved oxygen in the ocean and warm enough to grow plankton for the base of the food chain, Don’t really want it warmer than that, less dissolved oxygen.

Because Cap is a liar, plain and simple. We have not had a decent winter cold front since 2019 here in the South West Slopes. Winters are clearly milder these days because it doesn’t snow in places like Parkes anymore (it used to snow there quite a few times in the 19th and early 20th century).

100F in Russia, heat rising. Atlantic O temp UK is 53F. Land mass heated by the Sun, Ocean temp constant it’s cooler, deeper. 118F in Iraq, heat rising up into Russia. 6F on Greenland. 115F W Africa.
Have to get below the jet stream to see what temps are controlling it. Look at the barometric pressure areas from the temps that control the jet.

Remember during the Ice Age the Northern Hemisphere had MILE deep ice/sow in most areas. The Bering Sea ‘Land Bridge’ allowed the First People, American Indians, to follow animals into the Americas. Ice/Snow was +- a mile deep in Indianapolis IN. It went all the way down to about North of Elizabethtown KY. See the MULDRAUGH!
The area covered is about the size of North America from the Southern Border, majority of Europe and ALL of Russia a Mile deep. SKI HEAVEN!!!

I’ve been to Timberline 2-3 times. Not great with dates but I think it was summer of 2001 there was no snow up there at all. Very unusual Mt Hood is the only peak that has summer skiing as a rule.
I had a heck of a time climbing that “hill”. I got an angioplasty and stent that fall right after 9/11.
Juicy Fruit gum works on moles I tried it three days ago it really really works. One made a new hill in my zuke bed Wednesday night trying to push me over the edge. Nice try, have some Juicy Fruit ya furry little frucker.
Haven’t you figured out yet that you can get rid of slugs and snails by putting out a saucer of beer for them. I’m not sure if it gives them terminal cirrhosis or if they get lost on the way home.
Tried beer method, rain diluted, re filled. They still ate everything to the ground. Baking soda around planting areas worked better but the rain dilutes. 12:30 am 6/16 went out on slug patrol, got two slugs and one snail on the lawn heading for the pea plants in the front yard. Nothing in the backyard, Oner small snail on a plant on the North side of the house. Four targets acquired. 01:30, 44F. Got one slug out front and three micro slugs on the zuke plants. Four targets acquired.

That was a great question. About the Southern Jet Stream. Is it because there isn’t nearly as much LAND MASS maybe?
Also, what exactly does Return to Baseline mean? Everything we get from the Weather puppets has us not knowing what the Baseline is any more!

Beaufort Gyre’s ice melting would add fresh water to Atlantic and change ocean currents cooling down EU and all NH. Is that happening now? There is still sheet ice there you can see on Windy.com. On the temp map it is warmer up in the Arctic now than I’ve seen in a long time.
