Nice call Cap. I watched that video yesterday. Pretty scary stuff. They were saying we would be feeling it soon. Maybe 20 years before a major move in the poles? Or a Micro Nova. OR maybe both. Thank you for addressing it.
The fact that what’s happening in our galaxy as a whole puts a further nail to the coffin for the idea of man-made CO2, methane, and other greenhouse gases causing rapid and unprecedented global climate change on our planet. If all the natural cycles originating within our planet and throughout our solar system alike influence Earth’s climate even in this industrial age way more than the man-made greenhouse gases, how much more so something from throughout our galaxy!
Friday night’s solar flare’s proton spike above warning level all weekend. Largest electron spike since Dec which is the flare that gave Deb a heart attack. The March electron spike was also Mercury going by Jupiter after going by in Dec, so three Mercury/Jupiter conjunctions in a row and also Sept ’23, make it four in a row. Every time Merc goes by Jupiter there’s been activity since this cycle started and the next pass is in Sept prime for hurricanes.
On SOHO now Venus is left of the Sun, Mercury right side. Merc goes by Venus in a week, more flares forecast. https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/carrington-9.appspot.com/o/spaceWeatherNews%2Fgoes_proton.png?alt=media
If the TC Index chart tells us anything, it’s that solar cycles don’t “trend”.
A weak SC26 is not dependent on a weak SC25. (And historically so, SC25 is still weak anyway.)

Oh oh. The next thing coming will be a “Magnetic Tax” when governments get wind of this! 🤨

Took all week to get the lawn cut cause it rained all last weekend after I got it all cut again so now I can start cutting firewood again this week. NW US sposed to get some clouds with showers this week coming from monsoon in Bangladesh which is typical of the start of La Nina pattern. Moisture goes over China then zonal transpacific to the ITCZ US.

We get an X-1000 pulse, Dirk might be right about one!
Just kidding, a Carrington X-45 or so is quite big enough.

Another X flare while I’m typing this at 4AM Monday:
https://solarham.com/globald.htm
I have my own opinion about who –I mean what- caused my heart attack.
TCI strongest in twenty years. A weak SC26 prediction needed a weak SC25 to stay on trend. Sunspot count most in twenty two years. No weak SC26 expected, ’09 was the low, there’s updated charts showing that.

A weak SC26 is not dependent on a weak SC25. (And historically so, SC25 is still weak anyway.)
Indeed when looking throughout the history of Sun activity trends are rarely linear.
