Excellent work today Cap.
Yesterday it was 16C.
At noon today, -1C, the Arctic is once again the land the Jet-stream pushes far South.
It is incredible to see the Arctic cold air be pushed past us here in Alberta, and dumped down upon the American midwest. Sparking fears of tremendous plant loss. I know that the -50C we had killed the fruit production in the province next to us, they say 100% loss. No 2024 vintage.
Mr. Internet says the solar wind and total solar irradiance reached the lowest level in recorded history at the bottom of the last solar minimum in 2008. I presume the sun will continue to provide a decreasing leves of energy during the decades of the now progressing Grand Minimum.
Modern solar measurements go back how far? Perhaps to the Centennial Minimum?
Just a note of concern Cap. While solar flares may have the capacity to send us back to the Stone Age, the probability is what counts. So, beefing up the alarmism whenever a new spot of interest appears is exactly what you criticise in the alarmist media. Please stick to reasonable probability.
I am trying to determine how much iodine is in a tin of kipper snacks. The only info I can find doesn’t measure it in my or mcg, but in some measurement that is symbolized by what looks like a backwards letter “u” with a long tail and the letter “g”. I’m assuming the first thing stands for some Greek letter, but I don’t know which one.
I would like to know the relationship between this value and milligrams.

Thank you for the great reporting Cap.

How are the cattle ranchers in Alberta doing?
From where I sit Deb, they are dry, dry.

So what does cold and a drought produce, a tundra? Is it time to switch over to reindeer?

Last solar min was up, going out of GSM and ending the panic.

Noted Alby.
One day though, we will be hit — it’s a certainty.
The UAH GT site is still not updated for Feb, so Electroverse is the go2 site to see it’s record warm on the chart.

Mg, not “my”.
I think you are looking at the symbol for a microgram- a thousandth of a milligram or a millionth of a gram.
