About that WAPO article: all that “climate change” happened with zero human input, and if all our carbon emissions aren’t increasing the temperature trend, and life thrived under higher temperatures, we need to greatly increase our carbon emissions. I guess the morons pushing the climate agenda have never heard about the carbon dioxide cycle.
I was unaware of the TEMP difference over time. For all intents & purposes we are STILL in a late Ice Age!🧐❄️😎

I hope we are not in the middle of a glaciation. I know the temp has been dropping for a couple of million years and in particular, CO2 concentration was reaching the starvation point of plants. None of that is good news.
My hope is that the ocean currents will change and spread what heat is available around so that places like Greenland will become temperature, as it was previously. A pole shift of say, 20 degrees, would help a lot: redirect the southern circumpolar winds north-south a bit. Sea level could rise a couple of hundred feet over the next 500 years – no problem. We could farm Canada, Greenland and the whole Sahara and support 20 billion people. A little imagination! Make Earth Great Again. MEGA.
The current interglacial period will transition to glacial conditions very soon,, the transition has probably been going on for 4-6,000 years, if considering geological, however it’s going to be thousands of years before ice covers large parts of America and Eurasia year round and CO2 drops to 200ppm or less so it’s not something I worry about.
Probably…however, another LIA can occur in a decade or two. One of these times, a LIA will transition to or will actually be the beginnning of a major glaciation period. The next Ice Age.

Polar bears are doing just fine and are now marching southward for the USA as their population rapidly increases in the next few decades and beyond. If you hear a loud roar outside your window – that will be a polar bear!
That chart for the last 450 million years is probably the only reliable one you’ll find on most climate related topics – indicating that we’re colder now than in most of the last 450 million years. There was another one that showed that the climate is also colder now than in most of the last 10,000 years, except for the little ice age of the 1700’s and other little ones before that. The little ones come in cycles every few hundred years apart. We’re entering at least a little ice age right now as we move into the GSM phase. Other cold cycles, such as the precession of the equinoxes, the 1,400 year cold cycle and the change in orbit (orbital eccentricity) are also due right now. If anything, it’s the next major cold epoch we should worry about!!

For over 80% of the last 400 million years ,our planet has only experienced winter ice.
