25 Thoughts to “Global Temperatures Take A Dip; Heavy Snow Shuts Down Southern Norway; Nor’easter Looms; + 4 New Papers Find Antarctic Ice Is Doing Just Fine”
There is something very wrong with Roy Spencer’s precision redundant platinum resistance thermometers. The recent measurements make no sense and no longer bear any resemblance to the land-based thermometers. They are supposedly calibrated prior to launch, however one could suspect they have gone off calibration possibly due to the impact of recent solar flares. I would be interested to know what Roy’s explanation for the discrepancy is.
This looks like a real punch the gut!
Solar polar fields
If I’m seeing this chart correctly, the southern hemisphere of the sun has joined the northern hemisphere and reversed polarity marking the SC25 peak. That is a very much abbreviated version of what was predicted for SC25.
What does everyone else think? Am I interpreting the cause completely?
The strength of the polar fields at their peak during cycle 24 indicated that solar cycle 25 could reach a magnitude somewhere between those of cycles 23 and 24. The northern polar field reversed polarity the first time in April 2023 while the southern polar field reversed in October 2023 and the total field in November 2023. The SC25 solar max may already be in the past as the 365-day smoothed solar flux peaked on June 27, 2023.
Here in Finland electricity price will peak tomorrow 2,25 €/kWh due to political reasons. No natural gas from Russia anymore and coal powered plants are shut down due to the climate CO2 madness. Wunderbar..
How dare you.. City of Skellefteå in Sweden have to stop and cancel all the public bus transportation.. because of political reasons. Due to climate CO2 madness all the busses are electric..
Here in Finland multiple powerplants are burning oil so that our ever increasing number of electric cars can be charged.. maybe Tesla should start selling diesel generators for their nordic customers..
Jay. Our electricity hourly peak price is real. Todays average price is around 1.00 € per kWh.. highest price in Europe. I can afford these prices with plenty of firewood in my homestead.. but many people are not so prepared. I hope this will wake them up from the climate craziness.
Btw.. today we recorded -44,3 C here in Finland.. lowest this century
How many months did the UAH show higher temperatures this year? Wondering what number of months it took for the Hunga Tonga volcano effects to be seen and then receed.
Hi Cap. Am I allowed to forward this post of The Electroverse as evidential bumf to a letter to a journalist and also to a few friends to possibly pique their interest and subscribe? I am a patron and now am asked to subscribe to Substack. Is this necessary to receive the Electroverse by email? I suppose I can copy and paste most of the post’s many charts etc. but seems a bit ploddy. Billy Best in Vancouver BC area.
Looking at the temp forecasts on Windy.com and Accuweather for temps next weekend here in NW US. One town at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, Darrington Wa has low temps next Saturday and Sunday on Windy.com at -29F. Accuweather has a 46F degree higher temp forecast. Totally different forecast just nine days away. The temps vary not for just that town but all over the map. My area has a 22F degree difference Sunday, 1F or 22F, big difference. My house is not built for 1F. It’s just weird how much different they are, now I have to wait a week to see who was closer.

November election & Biden gun to his head. Best guess.
Precisly.

Copied from current Solen report on polar fields.
Record El Nino after the SC24 peak, UAH GT went up to record warm on the chart: https://ggweather.com/enso/oni.htm
Halfway point, Peak could be second half or it might not. 50/50 chance. I like this polarity chart too. Yours didn’t link so I’ll add it.

The Sun’s pole flip is done when they stabilize top and bottom, then they roll the other way for the second half of the cycle. GONG now shows red up top, green down under.

Will the second half of SC25 be weaker or stronger than the first half? Place your bets.
Typo: “first nor’easter of 2023,”, should be 2024.

That cost for electricity is astounding to me! How can people afford to live there?
I pay in N Alabama, USA, 11.4¢/kWh.
Juha, based on your stated rate of (Euro 2.25) $2.46/kWh, my current bill for electricity would be $6,283 USD instead of $296.25.
Are you sure of that rate figure?

I have to correct myself..spot peak price is sweet 2.35 €/kWh tonight.. maybe I turn off the led candles of our christmas tree
My goodness! Even 1 Euro average per kWh seems excessive.
Indeed, I hope your countrymen, and people everywhere, wake up!
(I put my small Christmas tree back in the closet to rest up for next season 🙂

Climate INSANITY – It’s too COLD for electric busses
Busses are being cancelled as Sweden experiences the coldest weather this century.

-Maybe someone has already seen this, but I think it’s important to post this.
The hypocrisy of EV’s, they are not heroes or saviors!
They are wasters of energy for others to be excluded or frozen!!

I have asked Cap twice now about forwarding an article without a paywall as free advertising and to spread the word. No reply.
Many browsers will allow you to save the page as a pdf which can then be emailed.
Sorry Don — this must have slipped past me.
Please, spread the word.

Please do William.
