The grids are totally unprepared for a major solar storm. The transformers take years to build and there is no warehouse holding enough to keep a few centres open. A friend worked at the Bruce Nuclear. They think they are ready but they are not. Their standby generators (if they survived the storm) would run out of diesel in 4-5 months. Oh the magnetic field! Nearly forgot about that. I have books on that topic written by Robert Felix and he was an expert on that topic. I read all about magnetic reversals in 2008 and I predicted between 2018 and 2025 we should be seeing a reversal and mass extinction – with about 60 to 80 percent of mammals dead (including most humans) by then. Well this hasn’t happened just yet – so I almost quit thinking about it . No one knows when that will happen for sure. But I would certainly keep an eye on it. It’s my understanding a reversal causes mutations due to cosmic rays and rapid changes in DNA. The extinction phase occurs about every 11,700 years. The last one was the Gothenburg Magnetic reversal about 12,000 years ago. The next one is supposedly overdue by 225 years already.
