It is a happy day! The western world is finally making an energy pivot.
It would be nice to hear them admit that they have been making greed filled, childlike, and sky is falling type decisions for several decades now that may prove to have lethal consequences.
The artist formerly known as Deb.
Drew is past tense, which would still be Deb.
Current tense would be Draw.
If your work is in pencil drawing, how about Sketchy?
Humanity needs some stability right now, so I like ‘Deb’.
Best wishes, Deb.
No longer waiting for the miracle to come, but… I hope you’re satisfied.
I should have had the insight to align myself with the asexual nature of the Internet from the get-go. It’s hard to shift gears with people who think they know who you are. One of the reasons I’ve spent my life as a drifter. I like reinventing myself. But old age has slowed me down.
The widespread anomalous cold over much of Asia is caused by arctic air sinking south. Obviously this air had to be replaced over the arctic, this could only be with mild air from further south. Temperature anomalies over the arctic ocean and parts of northern Canada are + 12-20 Celsius, GFS models show these anomalies persisting for at least the next 2 weeks. I can’t remember ever seeing such long lasting warmth over the arctic being predicted.
What could this mean for the northern hemisphere winter? One obvious answer seems to be that polar outbreaks could be a lot less severe than in previous winters as the air spilling south will be a lot warmer than in previous polar outbreaks.
If the temperature in the ocean decreases, evaporation decreases and the water vapor in the atmosphere decreases.
Less water vapor in the atmosphere decreases the temperature in the atmosphere because water vapor is a greenhouse gas:
“Warmer air holds more moisture than cooler air. Therefore, as greenhouse gas concentrations increase and global temperatures rise, the total amount of water vapor in the atmosphere also increases, further amplifying the warming effect.”
The average temperature of the Earth was about 16 degrees Celsius in September and dropped to about 14 degrees Celsius in November, which affects the weight of the atmosphere.
Nitrogen density at 16 degrees Celsius and 1 bara: 1.18 kg/m3
Nitrogen density at 14 degrees Celsius and 1 bara: 1.19 kg/m3
The temperature in Arctic is about -30 degrees Celsius in winter and about 0 degrees Celsius in summer.
The atmosphere becomes heavier in the Arctic in winter:
Nitrogen density at 0 degC and 1 bara: 1.261 kg/m3
Nitrogen density at -30 degC and 1 bara: 1.416 kg/m3
Will the atmospheric weight differences equalize?
Or will the weight differences persist?
If it is unusually warm over northern Canada. Will heavier arctic air pour down over Canada?

Btw, are you saying that by changing my name I’m destabilizing the human race?
Moffin, I suspect your seemingly altruistic motives. For reasons known only to yourself, you seem determined to neutralize my nomadic tendencies.
But don’t get your shorts in a twist. I can’t seem to find any better plac to be.

Moffin, you’re all right. You may be a Time thief, but at least you’re not a front for the dog and pony show.
