If ocean cooling continues maybe the Pacific Ocean salmon will recover from the 2015 and 2023 El Ninos which almost killed all the salmon because they need cold ocean water and cold full rivers. That would be just dandy.
Does the varying distance between the Earth and the Sun affect the climate on Earth?:
new computer simulations show that the effect of the changing distance between Earth and the sun has gone unrecognized.
The distance between the Earth and the sun varies during the year because of the planet’s slightly elliptical orbit. At its closest approach, Earth is about 3 million miles closer to the sun than at its farthest point. As a result, sunlight is about 7 percent more intense when Earth is closest to the sun. This slight variation in the Earth-Sun distance drives unexpected seasonal changes in climate, researchers say.
The research published in Nature and led by Rutgers University-New Brunswick, the University of California, Berkeley, Florida State University and other institutions demonstrates the yearly change in our distance from the sun, albeit slight, can have a sharp effect on the annual cycle of the “cold tongue” of surface waters stretching westward along the equator from the coast of South America. This is distinct from the effect of Earth’s axial tilt during the seasons, which is understood to cause the annual cycle of the cold tongue.
The cold tongue influences the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), which impacts weather in California, in much of North America and often globally. https://sebsnjaesnews.rutgers.edu/2023/01/earth-sun-distance-sharply-alters-seasons-in-tropical-pacific-in-a-22000-year-cycle/
Glad to see you’re back up, Cap. Was it a hack?

Robert Felix highlighted undersea volcanic activity, there’s simply more of them in the oceans than above ground by 3 or 4 times.
However, I thought seismic & volcanic activity increased during periods of low solar activity because of more cosmic rays reaching the earth and agitating the magma.
As we just past solar maximum, I would think the solar maximum conditions would mostly maintain and then slowly decline.
I started reading Ice Age Now every day in 2912 until the last post.
The volcanos were quiet during last solar minimum and cosmic ray maximum.
The volcanos started erupting when the solar flares started at the start of SC25.
When the solar flares are quiet like right now the volcanos quiet down and quakes quiet down. Cosmic rays just went up but the volcanos stayed quiet.
76 volcanos erupting at cosmic ray minimum which is at 22 year lows.
1800 mile long volcanic chain erupting under the Arctic ice. https://www.livescience.com/4992-volcanoes-erupt-beneath-arctic-ice.html
.
Cosmi ray max the volcanos were quiet which is opposite of what Rf said would happen.
Volcanos increased activity when cosmic rays are at 22 year low which is opposite of what RF said would happen. He was backwards. When the solar flares hit and a volcano erupts the cosmic rays drop at the same time. Opposite of what RF said would happen. I can show links three feet long and you still wouldn’t get it we’ve been doing this same loop for five years.
That’s okay, Dirk. I believe you…as much as I believe anybody any more. Thing is, I just don’t care anymore. I’m living it one day at a time. Lots things become less important when you can no longer walk farther than 20 ft without sitting down.
I replied to Jay because what he is saying backwards. The Zarkova/RF GSM predictions I started reading in 2012 were wrong.
Solar flares make volcanos erupt, they were quiet during cosmic ray maximum. Coronal holes and solar wind make volcanos erupt too. Tonga was from a solar flare. All the 76 volcanos erupting from solar flares. All the snow on the reports here is from volcanos from solar flares and coronal hole solar wind.
I couldn’t walk more than 20 feet 29 years ago but I went right bac to work and kept working so I could buy a house. I know all about pain and rain and snow and heat.
Nothing surprises me about that anymore – especially the Asphalt scam in summer! Of course it’s gonna “feel hot” in summer in Central FL or Dallas,TX if you’re standing at a gas station in the afternoon in the middle of summer on an asphalt parking lot in full sunshine LOL. Then they claim the high was 96 degrees there? NOT! Go out in the country in the same town in a shady area and the high temperature will only be 86, which is completely normal!
They need to make some crucial downward adjustments to the official monthly data record if within any city limits or throw out urban obs altogether.
And what about that thermometer right beside a burning trashcan some years ago????

Ya, 2015 record hot El Nino was bad, no snow in the mountains that Winter.
All the starfish melted in place, it killed almost all the herring, anchovies. Seals and Sea Lions starved. Robert Felix said it would snow here all that Summer from the historically low solar activity, boyyy was he wrong.

Heat from beneath our feet, explained brilliantly by EthicalSkeptic here: https://theethicalskeptic.com/2024/05/23/master-exothermic-core-mantle-decoupling-dzhanibekov-oscillation-theory/. (Specifically Article 1, but all 3 are equally important).

2912? Or 2012? I started in 2005–on a flip phone!
Robert Felix had all his ducks in a row. His conclusions were perfectly logical — except that we should be knee deep in polar bears by now.
Just goes to show, Man proposes but God disposes.
