Once lead in petrol had been banned the scaremongers moved onto CFCs (they’re destroying the ozone layer and we’re all going to get skin cancer). Once they’d been banned a new pollutant was needed so the decided it was CO2.
Every time the tactics were the same, claim the science was settled, we were all doomed, stigmatise anyone who disagreed and demonise multinational companies.
Some, maybe a lot of, people might disagree with me about the dangers of smoking but we’re being lied to about the dangers of climate change, were lied to about the dangers of Covid, CFCs and leaded petrol so why trust that the same people are telling the truth about smoking.
