Paul, EU lives were likely already cost this year, the 25-26 winter season. Not necessarily “freezing to death,” though some people may have actually expired in the cold, but more so from choosing between paying for expensive heat or for food, medicine, doctor visits or any general health expenses.
Skimping or ignoring your health because of lack of funds exacerbates health concerns and causes death, particularly among the elderly, the infirm and the very young. Politicians are adept at ignoring such occurrances.

Yeah, bad effects, like temps in the 50’s and 60’s in February. We had a late autumn that extended into December, and now an early spring starting in February. Except for two cold spells, not as severe as normal, and one snowfall, we have had no winter at all. If this is the returning ice age, I’ll take it. Has the earth tipped on its axis when nobody was looking?
