Today’s cooling is nothing unusual since 2005, that’s for sure. You certainly WOULD NOT see 4 deadly avalanches in a single winter like we had this year along with all-time record snow in Japan and -64 below in Canada in mid February and a blizzard in the NE that beat the 1978 blizzard, plus the fact that we gained 300 billion tons of sea ice in Antarctica since 2023 and that the Arctic has cooled 1.8 F since 2017. The cooling will continue at a steeper rate during the next century as we move into the deep phase of the Grand Solar Minimum and other ice age cycles due immediately. No doubt that extreme cold and record breaking snows will increase dramatically in the future.
I can’t believe everybody keeps talking about cooling. This is the warmest winter I’ve ever experienced! (Except when I lived in Las Vegas). It’s 72 today, 62(!) overnight, 82 tomorrow in mid Missouri! I am seriously not looking forward to summer this year. I hope my air conditioner holds out!
The Jet stream has fundamentally changed from what was the norm. Now it is looping far to the south before surging far up into the arctic following a yo-yo pattern around the planet. It is the reason for the unusual warmth and at the sane time the terrible cold. Killer tornados are to be expected across wide swaths of the midwest. The brutal cold is coming in our near future, so prepare for it while enjoying the warmth.
Muffin – New day, what do you say we start over? Come back home, all is forgiven. 🫂🫂🫂 And 💕💕💕
Deb it. Every day is a new beginning.
Solar activity does effect the polar vortex, in many ways.

Careful we don’t skirt into diabetes territory.
Best you remove your skirt then.
My concern was premature.

Just south of you in AR and it looks like we are going to get a late spring spanking next week.
We usually do. The poor fruit trees!
