a year ago no-one would talk about sub synchronous interaction (SSI) in widespread generation systems. Now it’s come back to bite the renewables camp big time.
The fact is that without a very solid base load generator to control voltage and frequency a grid which depends on thousands of inputs based on phase locked loop tracking of the grid will never be stable!
and that is without the effects of sub synchronous torsional interaction where wind turbines create damaging harmonics which can mechanically overload the turbine gearboxes and shafts.
Cold October in Siberia
Unexpectedly cold October forced drivers in the Kemerovo and Tomsk regions and Altai to switch from summer tires to winter tires in the first five days of the month, although this usually happened on October 20th. The first week of October was 4 to 7 degrees below normal, depending on the observation point.
Ultrapolar air masses in the troposphere bring cold weather to Siberia. At the same time, the air at altitude is quite humid, threatening precipitation.
On October 8th and 9th, precipitation in the mountains and foothills occurred in the form of snow, sleet, and in some places icy conditions. In the flat areas of Kuzbass and Altai, precipitation was mostly absent. Nighttime temperatures ranged from -3 to -8°C, and daytime temperatures ranged from 0 to +5°C.

A cold spring in southern Brazil and the region is (certainly) below average spring temperatures. Here in Curitiba, where I live…two or three days of rain with low temperatures ranging from 9°C to 12°C, along with frost in the highlands, will affect the region’s fruit crops.
The GFS Model 850mb Temp anomaly South America confirms this.

The minimum temperature record shows the intensity of the phenomenon in the highest altitude areas:
Urubici (PWS): -2.4°C
São Joaquim (INMET/Bandeira): -1.8°C
Bom Jardim (City Hall): -1.3°C
Urupema (Epagri): -1.3°C
Painel (PWS): -0.6°C
Rio Rufino: 3.1°C
Bom Retiro: 23.1°C (Note: outlier, likely an error) reading)
Vidal Ramos (Epagri): 4.9°C
