to start moving into Texas in 126 hours which is on the fringe of reliability for the GFS model. The snow & freezing rain is predicted to reach the central area in 144 hours. Continue unabated until 168 hours. Texas has never seen anything like this in our life time. Snow & freezing rain for more then 24 hours.
We are going to stoke up on water, fill propane gas bottles and any other things we think we may need. If accumulating ice hits expect protracted power outages.
When a winter storms like this hits this far south the rest of the country east of the Rockies have their own problems. Probably No help coming.
There are several low pressure areas in the Pacific Ocean that create large amounts of snow/rain in Russia and the US:
