Tomorrow is hump day 🐪. (Perihelion)
Global warming is true on this day, more than any other day. The giant globe called the sun is as close to the earth as it will be all year. More solar energy received translates into more warming.
Days are getting longer in the north now but solar energy is decreasing as the earth to sun separation increases, also more sunlight is reflecting off an expansive snow pack back into space. The second half of the cold season should out perform the first half.
Therefore I am with confidence declaring that, MSM GLOBAL WARMING chattering magpie🐦⬛ season is over until next summer.
Maybe in your place but not here in Metcalfe County KY!
Our average this month is a VERY low MAYBE 450 Wm-2…for the Month of December. In Summer 1300 Wm-2.
Hey Deb staying warm I hope so Be safe, Happy and Be Good!!!😘❤️
I have followed your conversations for years now. Very interesting. Wunderground.com has some features not found on other sites, such as how much longer or shorter esch day is compared to the previous day and weather records for each day in each locale. Since the winter solstice we have gained about 2 1/2 minutes of daylight here in western Kentucky.
Warm air from the equator pushes back the polar vortex.
If the warm air from the equator decreases, the pressure from the warm air on the polar vortex decreases and the polar vortex begins to grow.
If solar radiation decreases, the warm air at the equator decreases and the warm air pushing back the polar vortex decreases. What happens to the polar vortex?
Perihelion occurs on January 4, 2026. The Earth’s distance from the Sun is smallest at perihelion.
Spinkster.
Foundational knowledge is important.
In this case, the Hadley cell, Ferrel cell, and polar cell.
Then there is the Walker cell.
Then you have electric charge in the atmosphere, attracting and repelling.
The majority of positively charged particles from solar ejections, the charge from surface to surface friction, and the Lenard effect.
Think of a tornado as an electric motor. Seeking/forcing charge equalibrium.
Glad NASA is finally catching up with the science pertaining to clouds. However Dr. Henrik Svensmark uncovered this years ago. He deserves a Nobel Prize for his work, but of course he can’t receive such recognition, no matter how much he deserves it, because it goes against the mob thinking. Look up on Youtube, Henrik Svensmark, to learn real science regarding clouds and global temperatures.
Javier Vinos has written an interesting article about the climate changes that climate scientists can’t explain:
We have been fortunate to witness the largest climate event to occur on the planet since the advent of global satellite records, and possibly the largest event since the eruption of Mount Tambora in 1815. It is clearly a naturally occurring, externally forced climate event. However, mainstream climate scientists are not treating it appropriately. This is because climate science does not function like other sciences and is subject to strong confirmation bias. The first step to learning from the 2023 event is accepting its exceptional nature, which many fail to do. https://judithcurry.com/2025/12/29/the-2023-climate-event-revealed-the-greatest-failure-of-climate-science/

Grrrr, mumble , grumble, scumball, leave my daylight alone, mumble mumble.
I’m starting to think they left Gollum behind when they finished filming LOTR.
Or is a Moffin just a wee bitty troll?
Who is that knocking on my bridge. Trip trap, trip trap on my bridge.
Time to roast a gruff billy goat.
Are you hungry, Deb?
You are the master of the leading, ambiguous, insinuating question! Are you sure you’re not the lawyer?

Dang! That is some deep snow in Turkey.

And the Iditarod should have perfect snow this year!!!

Cap, thought that this may be of interest.
